Our textiles begin with the print. Each pattern is brought to life by hand using traditional block-printing techniques, where carved wooden blocks are carefully placed and pressed onto the fabric one impression at a time.
The process is slow and inherently imperfect — slight shifts in color, pattern and placement are part of what makes each piece individual. We work with skilled makers in India whose hands and experience are an integral part of every Tamarind Room piece.

Every Tamarind Room print begins by hand. Carved wooden blocks are dipped in color and pressed onto fabric one impression at a time, slowly building the pattern across the cloth.
The slight shifts in color and placement are part of the process, small traces of the hands that made it.
